VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHER

Vegetable tanning uses natural tannins to tan cowhide into leather.

It is safe both for humans, because natural tannins are harmless also to the most sensitive subjects, and for the environment, for raw materials are produced sustainably, the process does not produce polluting waste, and vegetable-tanned leather can be disposed of as organic waste, and even become fertilizer.

Vegetable tanning is the oldest tanning process used by man for literally centuries.
Tuscan master tanners have passed down their craft through generations to today, when ancient recipes meet advanced technology. Tanneries, to this very day, implement with dedication and passion the slow process that turns raw hides into leather, fully respecting humans and the environment.
